New Delhi: Famous writer Ruskin Bond says that in India it may soon happen that the number of authors is more than the readers. He said that the publishing industry in the country has developed a lot in the last several years and young writers are benefiting from it.
Recently, the 85-year-old writer was in the city at the launch of ‘My Elsa’, an English learning app for school students. In response to a question about India’s current literary scene, he said, “Publication has come at a time when more and more authors are earning well.” But I think a large number of people are writing right now and there is a danger of a time when there will be more writers than readers.
